Be yourself....

Hello...

Just a quick one i had linked my last post to a Paperartsy Paint challenge and after seeing what everybody else had created i really thought mine looked very out of place! So i thought i would try and redeem myself and share this, i had learned this from watching one of Leandra's you tube videos on painting using the 3 sided technique and after watching this my love of chalk paint began and i also loved the colours she had used, so i bought the same colours and created this....

i used a paper image but i can't remember where i got her from

the image looks a little ghostly as i have applied beeswax over the top, a trick i learnt from Lindsay Mason.
The metal cogs are from Tim Holtz and i think the stamps are Wendy Vecchi. I loved how the flower changed after applying beeswax to it and yes there is a touch of stickles glitter on there :)

thanks for looking and stopping by

Love Canvas...for valentines

Helloo there......:)

I thought I would share with you my latest make a 3D love canvas.....especially as Valentines was on the horizon

I've used Paperartsy chalk paint Rose and Nougat to create the overall colour. I've used a script stamp randomly all over the canvas and on the letters. The flowers are a Sheena Douglas stamp that i coloured in using Tim Holtz distress inks - Victorian velvet, pumice stone and for the leaves a blend of crushed olive and forest moss. everything was then cut out and shaped to create a depth for the flowers and leaves, I've used liquid pearls to create the center on the flowers.

I couldn't resist using rock candy glitter from Tim Holtz...might have a slight addiction to this as i keep applying this to nearly everything i making these days but i think it gives it a nice bling but without being in your face kind of glitter!

I then adhered the love letters using pinflair.

this is how it started (Little bit back to front on how i created it sorry!)- rose chalk and a blend of nougat paint from Paperartsy and a babywipe I've watched many of Leandras videos on you tube using the paints and grungepaste. This one hasn't as many techniques as hers but i wanted to keep this one simple but elegant

this is a close up of the random stamping i did on the background using a Lili of the valley stamp I bought from Port Sunlight stamping show which I'm hoping to be going to this year...fingers crossed!

Ta Dah!

thank you for taking the time to look and read my blog any comments are very much appreciated  :)

Helloo peps (if anyone is still there out there)!

It's Been a while you could say but i had honestly thought it had been deactivated and for some unknown reason I thought the other day I would have a look & its still there floating in cyberspace! Kinda scary.

Anyhoo thought i would show you my latest make, I got a tilda doll kit for Christmas & I've actually made it! amazing really as i'm not a great sewer, as high school nearly put me off sewing for life! But here she is, she is a Christmas decoration but I'l still keep her around.

Sorry for the pun title but i just couldn't help myself :)

Thank you for looking, take care Elx
