Well I've done it........(drum roll) I finally got Mr G to make a card for his Grandma's 70th Birthday! she loves anything Elivs :)

This is one I made at a class with Sheena Douglas, simply but very effective love her inky style :)

Christmas Cards

Hello there ;)

I thought I would put some christmas cards on that I have made as samples for Topaz, now & again I do some work for them for QVC. Each card has different techniques, some of them are simple and some of them have more detail to them.



On this one I have coloured the image with promakers, distress the edges, then used clear thick embossing powder over the image, let it cool then cracked it and inked over the top to make it look aged.



I've used a vintage sepia ink pad to stamp the image onto cream card then, water coloured some of the features of the face to enhance it and then lightly distress the edges.

This is a nice & easy card - with just simple stamping, matting and layering.

Again nice and easy, highlighted the face with some colour, then distress the edges with Tim Holtz ink pads and sprayed a shimmer of colour over but unfortunately you can't see it :(

This one doesn't really show up very well, I've stamped onto textured white card, distress the edge with Tim Holtz, then distress the edges with my scissors and embossed the edges with antique gold embossing powder.

With these two cards above I have coloured the image with promarkers, then distress the edges with Tim Holtz, the love card  has a shimmer of colour over the top but unfortunately you can't see it, hopefully it might show on tv- fingers crossed x

This image has been stamped with vintage sepia on cream card, then using the crackle glaze from the Tim holtz range then I've rubbed over with coloured ink to distress it more.

These two cards are done very simply, the bottom one has been embossed using gold embossing powder, but the colour of the card looks very different to what it actually is, I hope it doesn't look like this on tv x







I hope you like these samples, these stamps are foam backed stamps & they stamp beautifully if you've never tried them give them a whirl :)

Something for the men

This card I made for my sister- in- laws boyfriend who is in his early 20's and he's not particuarly into the " normal things" that are out there for men,  I'm always on the search for different stamps so I was chuffed when I found a series of them. Even my brother-in- law Phil, is thinking of having this as a tattoo! Elx

Hello there!, I've been able to catch up today on alot of projects that I've been fiddling with. Everything has taken a while as I had the mad idea of decorating a few rooms at once, well that god I've finished and life is kind ov returning to normal apart from 1 or 2 bits that still need to be done but I think I can persuade Gareth to finish it of for me (fingers crossed hehe):).
These 2 scrapbook pages I've made at Topaz with Jane I'm thinking of framing them and hanging in one of the rooms I've decorated the picture doesn't really show the colours that well but I hope you get the idea.

This is the Ranger mirror that I did with Lindsey over at Topaz, it was a complete mad day as we did 2 classes, I haven't yet finished off the the matchbox shrines but that is on my list to do tomorrow. It was nice to catch up with everyone including Shelia who was making us all laugh :))

Again I'm afraid not the best photo, but for whatever the reason of the computer world this is the only one it will let me upload - strange things!

A few More Atc's

     Just thought I would show you a few more that i've had a fiddle with :) 

this has a shimmer of gold all over it, which has given this smudged effect- looks better in real life!

  

The fairy has an acetate wing & there is lots of fairy dust :)

Really like this one, I used my distressing inks and sprizted over with some perfect pearls.

 This is one I'm going to be sending to Heather for this months Atc swap, i've used glossy accents with a glitter pen on the small seashell (sorry you can't see the glossy accent, but I have used it- honest!) which looks really effective.

Tim holtz stamp again! i've used clarity stamp silk card and brayed the background from my big n Juicy inkpad & stamped the image after this is dry, polish the card with a tissue and you get a lovely shine- I used the same technique with the first atc x

ATC Swap

Lindsay's ATC & Shelia's ATC

Hello there,
Well this weekend I had my first atc swap with Lindsay Mason, who was demostrating at Dawn Bibby's Design Studio with some fabulous techniques and Shelia, who learned how to make a rose with grungepaper which are on her blog. I had made some paper roses and using clear UTEE in the melt pot, I found the article in the craft stamper magazine, September issue and as soon as I saw them I thought I had to have a go, I didn't have the correct stamp so I used one that came with one of the previous issue's of the craft stamper magazine. I think it looks as good as the one in the article, I showed this to Jane and the crew who was demonstrating at Dawn's and they seemed to really like them and asked how I did them. Stamp & cut out 3 flowers, then i've used Tim Holtz's Victorian velvet to ink the paper, make sure you colour both sides, the first flower make a cut down the petal, the second flower cut out 1 of the petals this can be thrown away and the second flower cut out 2 petals, use this to make the centre of the rose, for each layer glue the petals together bringing one petal on top of the other this will form a cone shape, curl the petals and trim the 3 smaller flowers at the bottom to remove the point this will let each layer nest into each other. Melt the clear UTEE powder in your melt pot and once this is completely melted take the largest petal and dip into the melt pot coating both sides and let it drain a little and them put this onto the craft sheet, do this to all of the layers and place each layer straight into each other and build up as you go (melted UTEE will hold each layer in place, I hope this makes sense!). Have fun :)))

Christmas Cards

Hello sorry it's been a while, but i've found a couple of chrimbo cards for you, just what you want in July!!! where has the sunshine gone?

On this card I've used a brayer on some glossy card to create the background on then stamped and heat embossed onto the card and then to create the snow effect I've used bleach to create the snow, this is really fun to do (a bit smelly) but the hardest thing to do was to know when to stop, otherwise it looks like you've got a blizzard going on!?!

This a card I made a using stampboard which is great fun if you have never used it. I've blended

to colours of blue and then dabbed the edges with gold. Stamped the image and heat embossed with black.

Some more Fairies! & Melt Art Cards

I've been looking around my craft room and thought i'd show you some of the cards that i've made at workshop over at Dawn Bibby's shop, i usually go with my mum on these as she likes to have a dabble now and again.

These ones are using the melting pot in a class with "our Jane" this was good messy fun! so i was a happy bunny:)))))) I don't think my mum was toooo impressed at having messy hands, but she did enjoy using the melt pot.

Here are some cards and a fairy in a jar that i made in a class with Lindsey Mason. We have used alcohol inks (which was the first time i had used them) to create the background on glossy card and them stamped on the front with a fairy stamp and stamped her wings again on acetate to give a nice illusion to the card. The fairy in a jar was fun to make using alcohol ink to create the colour on the lid and to dye the ribbon, which is a great way to make coloured ribbons.
